Fun-Filled Competitions at The Templeton of Cary
Residents at The Templeton jumped right into one of the community’s most anticipated traditions, the Liberty Olympic Games. Launched by Liberty Senior Living in 2018 for its independent living communities, the Games are designed to encourage movement, spark mental engagement, and foster meaningful connections. This year also marked the introduction of the ALympics, bringing the spirit of friendly competition to assisted living residents at Swift Creek at Templeton.
Opening day at The Templeton set the tone with a festive torch lighting ceremony and a resident flash mob. Eighty-one participants competed in 25 events, including shuffleboard, pool volleyball, races, cornhole, and more. Student volunteers from Meredith College helped bring each event to life.
The week concluded with an awards ceremony and a PowerPoint recap celebrating the fun and camaraderie. Top independent living competitors advanced to Raleigh in March to represent The Templeton at the Liberty Senior Games at Hayes Barton Place.
