The road to better fitness, health and improvement in the quality of one’s life is a road not traveled by many, mostly because it is hard and definitely not easy. As your Wellness Director I take personal ownership of being your coach on that road. Knowing personally how being on that road has changed my life immensely, I really want to share those good feelings with each resident.
There are few things in my life that can compare with watching someone regain their health for the rest of their life. This may sound simple, but I really get excited being part of the process and knowing that I helped.
About Kathy Lawrence: Kathy Lawrence has a personal approach to fitness training that’s truly exceptional. She knows firsthand how much working out on a regular basis has not only physical benefits but also, for many people, has mental and emotional effects as well. Improved confidence and self esteem, less depression, improved sleep and increased sense of well-being may be just as important as the physical achievements.
As a triathlete, Kathy competed in the NC Trysports Series from 2005-2012 and held the First Place Age Group title for 6 of those years. She specializes in working with older adults and those with injuries.
Kathy is an ACE-certified Personal Trainer, Parkinson’s Wellness Recovery certified instructor, a Silver Sneakers and TRX certified instructor, Her article, “Weight Management for the Young Athlete,” was published in the April 2011 edition of Complete Nation: Youth Sports Magazine.
